Managing Director of National Housing Finance PLC

Mr. MOHAMMAD SHAMSUL ISLAM is the Managing Director of National Housing Finance PLC, a position he has held since July 2021. He joined the Company as Additional Managing Director in February 2021 and was subsequently promoted to Managing Director in recognition of his extensive banking experience and leadership. Prior to joining National Housing Finance PLC, he served as Deputy Managing Director of Global Islami Bank PLC from May 2017.

Mr. Islam is an accomplished banking professional with more than 37 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his banking career in 1989 as a Probationary Officer at AB Bank PLC and, over the years, held a wide range of managerial and leadership positions within the organization. During his tenure at AB Bank, he successfully managed several branches and served as the Head of various functional divisions at the Head Office, gaining extensive expertise in banking operations, business development, credit management, and corporate leadership.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mr. Islam actively contributes to the development of Bangladesh's financial sector. He is a Member of the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Companies Association (BLFCA) and a Member of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (IBB).

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Islam has participated in numerous professional training programs, executive development courses, and seminars in Bangladesh and abroad, further strengthening his expertise in banking, finance, leadership, and corporate governance.

Mr. Islam holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Banking from the University of Dhaka.
